Growing up in Colorado where we had four seasons and Winter seemed like it lasted forever, it was always such a relief to see the first spring bulbs coming up through the snow. Now I live in Los Angeles where there are flowers blooming year round, but we do have seasons and it seems as if the winter is dragging on forever. We become acclimated to our environments and when I first moved here 10 years ago it did not feel like there were 4 seasons, however, I have become more aware of the subtleties that are the four seasons of Southern California. This subtleness of the seasons has taught me to look for the subtleties in myself and I have found that the more mindful I am with each breath, the more I can appreciate the difference in each precious moment.
One of my passions in life is learning. I always have several books on my bedside and a list of summits and podcasts that I am listening to. There is so much to learn and I strive to be ever curious. My latest book I am reading is How to Do The Work: Recognize Your Patterns, Heal from Your Past and Create Your Self by Dr. Nicole LePera. If you are feeling stuck and can’t seem to break an old habit, this is a great read with simple and doable steps to break old patterns.
